This n That – South Side Queers
Listing description
This n That is a grassroots group designed to facilitate the growth of a close-knit Walyalup (Fremantle) queer community.
Despite its reputation as progressive, the port city does not have a strong public queer presence, and many queer people living south of the river feel isolated and disconnected from a community that we perceive as based in Northbridge (Perth).
This n That hopes to build a resilient community down in Freemantle. Even with the progressive reputation of this city, members of this group still routinely face street harassment, physical assault, and precarious employment. This n That is one pathway to ensuring that we are able to main a robust public presence to challenge this.
